Dele Alake, a former Lagos commissioner of information and strategy, says he has not been appointed as the spokesperson of President Bola Tinubu. Hours after the inauguration on Monday, Femi Fani-Kayode, former minister of aviation, announced on his Twitter handle that Alake has been appointed as the president’s spokesperson. But speaking on the issue with TheCable, the former director of strategic communication of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign, said the news of his appointment was fake. “It was fake news. I’m always surprised when news people failed to recognise fake unsigned stories,” Alake said. Alake was the commissioner for information and strategy in Lagos between 1999 and 2007 when Tinubu was the governor of the state. The plane for the proposed Nigeria Air will arrive on Friday ahead of the commencement of operations, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika has confirmed. The Minister told a television station that a Nigeria Air aircraft will land in the country in two days as part of processes to commence operations and unveiling of the delivery process. He promised that the aircraft will be unveiled in Nigeria’s colours in fulfillment of all the promises made by the administration in the aviation sector. He noted that the only incomplete item is the aerotropolis, which is the airport city and is 60 percent complete. According to him, the ground work has been completed and are looking to conclude work on the airport city by the next administration.
