Pastor David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministries has issued a warning to his church members and Nigerians concerning his spiritual father, and founder of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo. Ibiyeomie vowed to kill anyone who speaks harshly about Oyedepo. The clergyman explained that Oyedepo is his spiritual father, hence he would not allow anybody to speak harshly about him. An Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court has sentenced a man identified as Sunday Oyedele, to life imprisonment for having unlawful carnal knowledge of the three-year-old daughter (name withheld) of his neighbour. Oyedele was convicted of a one-count charge of defilement brought against him by Lagos state government. The trio of the prosecution team, Olusola Soneye, Mrs Arinola Momoh-Ayokanbi and Mrs Olufunke Adegoke, had told the court that Oyedele who was arraigned on April 29, 2019, committed the offence in November 2017 at Itamaga area of Ikorodu Lagos. Four witnesses, including Dr Oyedeji Alagbe, a medical doctor from the Mirabel Centre (a Sexual Assault Referral Centre) testified for the prosecution during the trial. Dr Alagbe told the court that medical examinations revealed that the minor was defiled anally and vaginally. A female police officer has taken her own life after killing her husband. The Kenyan police constable reportedly shot and killed her officer husband before turning the gun on herself in what is suspected to be a murder-suicide. The two constables, Abel Andari, 28,and Dorcas Chebet, 27,were found lying in pools of blood in their house at Kiungani Police Station in Kiminini, Trans Nzoia County. Reports say that at around 10am on Sunday, January 23, Ms Chebet arrived at the Kiungani station and met her husband. Shortly after getting into the house they locked themselves inside. “Around 11.30am, one gunshot was heard from the house of Mr Andari,” Trans Nzoia County Criminal Investigations Officer Francis Kihara told the Nation. It has been revealed that Abdulmalik Mohammed Tanko, the proprietor of Noble Kids Nursery and Primary School, Kwana, Kano, visited the parents of Hanifa Abubakar, a five-year-old pupil of the school, after she went missing in December. Daily Trust had reported how Tanko confessed to the crime when he was paraded at the Kano Police Command Headquarters, earlier, on Friday. Tanko had narrated how he abducted the victim, kept her in his house and poisoned her afterwards. He had dug a hole and buried her in one of his schools. Speaking with Daily Nigerian, Suraj Sulaiman, the uncle of Late Hanifa disclosed that Tanko shed tears when he visited the parents to console them. The Borno State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a humanitarian worker who allegedly raped a teenage Internally Displaced Person in Maiduguri. The suspect, Hussarf Abdurauf, 35, a staff of INTERSOS, an international humanitarian organization, allegedly lured the victim to his apartment at 303 Housing Estate, near Dalori IDP camp, Maiduguri, under the guise of cleaning the place and allegedly raped her. Spokesperson of the command, ASP Sani Shatambaya, said the incident happened on Tuesday, January 18, around 10.30am. “Hussarf Abdurrauf took Aishatu Muhammed Adamu into his room on 303 Housing Estate and raped her. The victim started shouting in the process, which attracted the attention of neighbours, who gathered at the door, which made the suspect open the door, while the victim was crying ‘my virginity.’" he stated. Operatives of the EFCC, Makurdi Zonal Command, have arrested 8 suspects for alleg ed involvement in computer-related fraud.  The suspects are:  Okoha Chinedu Charles, Chibuizor Philip Nnake, Emmanuela Odeh Eneokpe, Ushir Terhile John, Okoro Ossico Osaro, Ejiofor Chibuizor, Wandoo Juliet Baru and Tarbee Destines. They were arrested on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 during an operation by operatives of the Commission in Makurdi, Benue State. The suspects will be charged to Court as soon as investigations are concluded.

Anja Ringgren Loven, an Akwa Ibom-based Danish aid worker, and her team have rescued a little boy who was found naked in the bush in Eket. According to Ms Loven, the child was brutally beaten, abused and in severe pain when he was found few days ago. In a Facebook post on Thursday January 13, the aid worker said that the boy is also very traumatized and had not spoken a word since her husband, David rescued him. “It has been a terrible week. A few days ago David found a little boy thrown into the bushes along side the road. The boy was not wearing any clothes. He was seriously abused and beaten,” she narrated. David immediately called the police and took the boy to the hospital and called Land of Hope nurse Itoro to meet him there. The boy is on constant analgesic due to severe pain.
