Here is the news in details 👇👇 The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called off its eight-month-long strike that has grounded academic activities in the public universities. The union took the decision after it agreed to accept government's total payment of N70 billion. Hence, These was disclosed by ASUU via its Twitter handle on Friday after its meeting with the Federal Government’s team led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige. It tweeted,  ⏬⏬⏬ “The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has shifted ground on FG’s offer. The Union insisted that payment of outstanding salaries must not be done as through the IPPIS platform as promised, if strike would be suspended.”

The Nasarawa State Police has arrested one Cephas Iliya ‘m’ 27years of Kaduna state for killing one Martins Omeri, a Deputy chief auditor in the office of the Accountant general of federation, Abuja but residing at Navy estate Karshi, Karu LGA of Nasarawa state. On 24/11/2020 at about 1145hrs, Police personnel attached to Karshi Division acted on credible intelligence and arrested the suspect at Arab area, FCT Abuja. Miami-Dade Police are investigating the mysterious death of a young couple who were found dead inside their short-term luxury rental home on Tuesday morning, November 17. On Thursday, November 19, Miami-Dade police identified the victims as Tyron Coleman, 23, and Jessica Moye, 26. The young couple was lodging at a Kendall luxury home, near The Falls, Miami, when they died. A cleaning crew entered the rental at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Nov 17 and found the couple unresponsive. Authorities were called to the scene and they found the couple was already dead. President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the killing of the Nasarawa state chapter chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Philip Shekwo, saying the nation’s security system must do more to end the incidents of violence in the country. The President, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Garba Shehu welcomed the decision of the Inspector General of Police to send reinforcement to the state. “I strongly condemn the killing of Philip Shekwo. He was kind and jovial. His contribution towards strengthening the party in Nasarawa State will not be forgotten. May his soul Rest in Peace.” The Presidency, the statement added, notes the Inspector-General of Police’s deployment of reinforcement to Nasarawa state.

Joint Security Taskforce in Edo State has arrested suspected kidnappers following a raid at Upper Sakponba and riverine communities in the state. The suspected kidnappers, all males, were arrested around Ogbemudia oil palm plantation on Saturday, November 21, barely 24 hours after the military commenced a seven-day operation to fish out criminals in the state following upsurge in kidnapping, cult related violence and killings. Prior to the operation, General Officer Commanding 2 Division, Major General Anthony Omozoje, had met with Governor Godwin Obaseki to intimate him on the planned operation in the state.
