Self-acclaimed plastic surgeon, Dr Anu has defended herself after being called out over alleged botched surgeries she conducted and death of former beauty queen, Onwuzuligbo Miriam Nneka.  Dr Anu who lashed out at those calling her out, stated that she doesn't think the dead should be disrespected in any way, as pictures of the late Nneka has been making the rounds on social media. She also pointed out that those dragging her should have channelled their grieviances through appropriate channels instead of social media.  The Nigerian doctor also stated that Nneka never died at her plastic surgery clinic. Though she admitted that the late beauty queen underwent plastic surgery, she however added that she (Nneka) "walked" into Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) for pneumonia treatment.  Dr Anu stated that while Nneka was at LUTH for over a month, she was made to lie on her bum and also forced to discontinue her antibiotics medication which ...

The Colorado man, “Joe B” won two, $1 million Powerball prizes on March 25 while playing the same set of numbers, the Colorado Lottery said in a press release. The Pueblo man came to claim his prize Monday at the Lottery’s drive-thru claims office. According to reports, Joe bought a few Powerball plays in the morning at a 7-Eleven on Lake Ave., and that same night, bought some more at Loaf N’ Jug, also on Lake Ave., the release said.  CNN reports that he has been playing the same numbers (5-9-27-39-42) for 30 years. Although this is the first time an incident like this is being reported for the Colorado Powerball, a similar one had happened in Virginia in 2012, CNN reported.

About 313 coronavirus cases have been reported in Moroccan jails following mass testing for COVID-19. The authorities say Ouarzazate prison in central Morocco recorded 303 cases, while 10 other cases were in Oudaya prison in Marrakesh and Ksar Kebir prison in the north-west. Most of the cases involved prisoners, but a small number of prison warders were also diagnosed. The mass testing started after one person in Ouarzazate prison tested positive last week. The authorities say they have isolated all positive cases and all warders have been issued with protective gear. There are nearly 80,000 inmates in Moroccan prisons. In early April, more than 5,654 inmates were pardoned by the king to reduce the risk of spreading the virus in notoriously overcrowded prisons. Morocco has 4,252 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including 165 deaths.

According to a report by The Nation, the Ebonyi State COVID-19 Taskforce on Sunday arrested five pastors in Afikpo North and Ohaukwu Local government areas for violating the lockdown order to contain the spread of COVID-19. It was alleged the arrested pastors held church service contrary to Government orders. In Afikpo North, the Task Force led by the Technical Assistant to Governor Dave Umahi, Otu Unyanma, confirmed the arrest of the Pastor of Dynamic Faith Church who violated the order. Other pastors arrested at Ohaukwu local government area include officiating ministers of Church of Christ Agbaba; Ascension church Agbaba, Methodist church Otuokpeye, and Methodist church Ndegu-Eshi. The taskforce team in Ohaukwu, acting on a tip-off mobilized and stormed the churches and promptly arrested the pastors and officiating priests. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has cautioned the public against consuming bleach or other disinfectants as proffered by United States President, Donald Trump. Trump had, at a news conference on Thursday, suggested using powerful cleaning agents, through an injection, as a possible COVID-19 cure. The US President, while briefly addressing his advisor, Dr Deborah Birx, said, “I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it (the virus) out in a minute — one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning? The Ekiti State Government has confirmed 4 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing the total number of active cases in the state to five. The new cases are said to be primary contacts of a 4th recorded case, who is the medical doctor that carried out surgery on a late Coronavirus patient. While the doctor is currently receiving treatment, the newly confirmed cases are currently stable and asymptomatic and have been transferred to the State’s Isolation Center in Ado-Ekiti. Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has directed that the State Secretariat reopen for workers from level 13 upward to resume work on Monday 27 April 2020. According to him: “The State Secretariat will be reopened on Monday, April 27th, 2020. Only civil servants at level 13 and above with separate offices will resume.” “The following guidelines are in place to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19 within the secretariat: “There will be new security measures in place including having only one gate to serve as entrance and exit. The man named Jonathan Adewunmi, is the owner of a popular Nigerian restaurant named Amarachee in Brooklyn area of New York. Pandemonium broke in Shogunle and Ladipo area of Agege Motor Road in Lagos state on Monday afternoon April 20, following the arrest of six suspected ritualists. According to reports, the suspected ritualists who specialize in abducting passersby along the road, were apprehended after a failed attempt to abduct a street sweeper. The cry for help from the street sweeper attracted residents of the area and area boys who came to her rescue. One of the suspected ritualists on sighting them attempted to flee but was given a hot chase by the area boys and was apprehended. Five other suspected ritualists were apprehended and brought out. The timely intervention of the police prevented them from being lynched.

A staffer of the World Health Organisation, Bauchi State Office has tested positive for coronavirus, The PUNCH reports. The new case brings the total number of active cases in the state to two. The Executive Chairman, Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Rilwan Mohammed, disclosed this in a telephone interview with our correspondent in Bauchi about 5.20 pm on Sunday. Yakubu Diko has been remanded in prison after he was accused of tricking the young girl into his home before raping her about three weeks ago. Abiodun Essiet, a Special Adviser to the Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area council (AMAC), said Diko approached the playground where the girl was with her peers and chased everyone except the little girl, The ICIR reports. He beckoned to the girl, pretending he wanted to send her on an errand. When she followed him into the house, Diko allegedly squeezed a towel in the girl’s mouth, held her down and sexually abused her. He then warned her not to tell anyone what had happened.
