The Bellville Commercial Crimes Court Cape Town, has sentenced a Nigerian fraudster Chinonso Pascal Eze, who ran an online dating scam in which he duped unsuspecting women out of over R1 035 030 (N26m) Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Eric Ntabazalila said in a statement that Eze, 36, was on Thursday, April 29, sentenced to 20 years imprisonment after being convicted on 23 counts of fraud and nine counts of money laundering. Eze entered into a plea and sentencing agreement with the State on Thursday and confessed to being part of a syndicate which operated an online dating scam. He told the court the ultimate goal was to secure large sums of money from “unsuspecting victims”. The court heard that Eze and members of the syndicate reached out to victims through dating sites. Video of an unidentified man slumped and died in front of a bank in Rivers state went viral newspremises reports. According to an eyewitness, Uwaifo Obiano who share the video on Faceebok, the man died due to the unfriendly attitude of the new generation bank staff. Newspremises gathered that the deceased was allegedly denied access to hold money since Friday 23rd of April 2021, even when he came with his next of kin. He was asked to go to the court to get an affidavit even though courts are not in session due to the ongoing strike. The man was said to have collapsed and died due to hunger, after not being allowed to withdraw, a young lady and two men came to the scene demanding that the bank opens the access door so they could deposit the man’s remains in the banking hall. According to the young lady who spoke in tears, the man tears the victim was her father, adding that the man was sick and had come to the bank to get money for his treatment.

Armed bandits have killed six persons in three communities in Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina state.  It was gathered that the heavily armed bandits opened fire on some persons along the road in the early hours of Monday, April 26.  According to a source, who spoke to Vanguard, the bandits killed four persons in Sayau Kasuwa, one in Unguwa Nakaba and the other person in Sayau Malamai. "The incident happened in the midnight around 00:40 am when the bandits were passing by with their guns and suddenly clashed with the persons on the way. They shot sporadically killing four persons in Sayau kasuwa," the source said. "They shot one in Unguwa Nakaba and another in Sayau Malamai. A Kano woman, who identified herself as Lubna Ali, said that she rejected a marriage proposal following a disrespectfully act against a former Governor of Kano State, Senator, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. A Nigerian man residing in Lagos has been arrested after his nine year old daughter recounted how he consistently raped her for a long time. In a video shared online by @mibi.oje, the little girl, Esther, said her father had consistently raped as her stomach was beginning to hurt her. She recounted how he would ask her to remove her clothes and then insert his male organ into her and afterwards ask her never to tell anyone.
